Dear
[student],
Greetings! I'm your admissions counselor at Hollins University, and I understand
you've expressed an interest in Hollins. I would enjoy the opportunity to get
to know you better, and I welcome your questions about Hollins or your college
search in general.
The school year at Hollins is well under way. First-year students know their
way around the campus and classrooms by now. They've also figured out which clubs they
want to be
involved in and have sampled Hollins' social
life.
Most have even planned their Tinker
Day costumes and are eagerly awaiting their first climb up Tinker
Mountain.
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors—thrilled to be back among friends—are
making plans for study
abroad or
for
their January internship.
I hope you'll come for a visit and see Hollins in action for yourself during
one of our fall
open houses. It's the perfect opportunity to see if Hollins is the
right fit for you.
I hope to meet you in person during your visit. If
you have any questions in the meantime, e-mail me at lbieging@hollins.edu.
I'm here to help.
I wish you all the best during this exciting time in your life.

For Susan Honer, creativity isn't a separate part of her life. It is her life. A double major in dance and English, Honer had long heard about Hollins while growing up in Roanoke. When application time came, she looked at several colleges, all with good dance and English programs. "Nothing compared to Hollins, though," she said. There were plenty of conservatories. But she wanted to take academic classes as well. "I’ve become such an advocate for liberal arts education, and I'm so glad I ended up at Hollins."
