  In keeping with its mission, Student Horizons, Inc. publishes college guidebooks to further promote colleges and universities it feels provide exceptional educational experiences for students. Student Horizons, Inc. has also created a brand, Beyond the Books, dedicated to the promotion of stellar experiential learning programs throughout the country’s institutions.
     
 

Colleges of Distinction

Student Horizons, Inc. published the guidebook Colleges of Distinction in Fall 2008. This college guidebook is dedicated to the Colleges of Distinction website (www.collegesofdistinction.com), an initiative that began in 2003 and has grown to over 240 unique schools.

  
 
 
The Colleges of Distinction (www.collegesofdistinction.com) website identifies and profiles colleges in the U.S. that excel at 1) engaging students, 2) providing outstanding teaching, 3) offering vibrant communities, and 4) producing successful outcomes, the pillars of a strong and active undergraduate education.
Recommended by a panel of education professionals, these schools span the United States and offer a wide variety of educational experiences. The Guide to Service-Learning

As of Fall 2008, Student Horizons Inc.'s initiative, Beyond the Books, published its first guidebook, The Guide to Service-Learning Colleges and Universities, spotlighting strong service-learning programs across America.


The Guide to Service-Learning Colleges and Universities will serve as an engaging resource for the college-bound community, and promote hands-on learning experiences, which are pertinent to success after college. The Guidebook's introductory material will feature an informative overview of service-learning and its benefits under a license provided by the National Service-Learning Clearinghouse.

Entrepreneur EDU

Coming in Spring 2009, Beyond the Books' latest guidebook, Entrepreneur EDU: Guide to America's Best Undergrad Programs. Entrepreneur EDU profiles colleges and universities across the United States that have developed state-of-the-art, student-focused, entrepreneurial programs for undergraduates. The guidebook and accompanying website will serve as an informational resource to assist parents and students with decisions during the college application process and secondary school counselors in their recommendations of schools.
